FAQ

The Photo Shoot

How do you come up with the concepts?

Group effort! My clients are creative, willing to play, & let their hair down.

Do you pose us I’m kind of awkward/unphotogenic.?

I get this question, ALOT.  I will set up the shot, let you naturally fall into place, (your comfort is key) No awkward cookie cutter pose, nice and relaxed – My business is referrals, clients have fun, tell their friends and come back for more! Easy and best of all- great experience.

Do you use lighting?

Of course! Whether it’s a small flash to a large strobe with a 60 inch parabolic umbrella. I love the combination of studio lighting and natural lighting- gives your photos the edge. ( that is why studio is my fave- also you can control the temperature, weather- raining? no prob, santa ana winds? who cares.)

I want you to shoot my wedding Do I need an engagement session?

YES. The photos are secondary, the relationship and trust you develop is key (makes your wedding photos that much better) My best wedding photos are the ones where I have worked with the couple before the wedding, we both know what to expect.

What’s the most important thing to you in a photograph, background or lighting?

The most important thing is the relationship of the photographer and subject- then lighting then background.

I LOVE film! I see you shoot film, can I add it to my shoot?

For sure! We can add on 35mm, or 8×10 polaroid baby! Let me know what you are thinking and can get you a quote. (I love film I am often printing in the darkroom)- It is pricey, be prepared.

How do you get the kids in your photos so natural?

Kids are natural born actors. Let them act. They are only that way for a very short time, capture it now. And get ready for fake fart noises, they love a gassy photographer.
