Ghost Town | ST. Thomas Nevada

st thomas ghost town nicole caldwell 09Before the rains came and we were still in the drought,  We ventured out beyond CA to the Ghost Town of St. Thomas Nevada, at Sunrise.   This town has been underwater for over 50 years after the Hoover Damn was built, and now it has emerged due drought conditions. st thomas ghost town nicole caldwell 04st thomas ghost town nicole caldwell 10

The town is located in the Lake Mead National Recreation area.  The road it a bit bumpy, but the hike down to the ruins is fairly easy.

The Trail Loop is 2 1/2 miles and filled with structures and trees to photograph.st thomas ghost town nicole caldwell 12

All the photographs were shot with my Hasselblad film camera, and I used two films.  One of the films is the experimental washi paper.  The texture you see was not applied in photohsop, it is the result of the scan of the paper negative- pretty cool stuff.st thomas ghost town nicole caldwell 26st thomas ghost town nicole caldwell 18st thomas ghost town nicole caldwell 19st thomas ghost town nicole caldwell 21IMGP7886This is the view from the parking area, you can see the hiking trail below.IMGP7891IMGP7898

Good Morning Laguna Beach, Trash the Dress

First Shot of the day, before the sun came up 6:30 a.m., on our way to trash the dress. More like a celebrate the dress. Put it back on and not worry about getting it sandy, wet, and be free to move on the beach, get your toes sandy, and maybe dip them in the water.
