In the studio with Angela for her formal bridal portrait, and because she wore two wedding dresses, we photographed her with two different film types: 8 x 10 polaroid and 4×5 black and white. At her wedding, she wore traditional white, and a traditional, Cheongsam with dragon & phoenix design. New 55 film produces both a positive print, and a negative for scanning and printing. We then shot 8 x 10 large format with with this camera:
The wedding of Courtney and Jacob at the Monarch Beach ( formerly St. Regis) Resort.
This was the final shot of the night, which ended up being my favorite of the entire event. I love nostalgia, and this one feels like a 50’s early 60’s photograph. A fun filled moment for the couple, well into their wedding reception.
Erica and Matt were married at the beautiful Casa Romatica, located in San Clemente. Some early morning showers brought some amazing clouds- as October always does. The couple decided to forgo a bridal party ( wise choice) Erica wanted her “bride tribe” to have no obligations, but to come and enjoy the party. AaaaaaMAZING pics! We couldn’t be happier with the way these came out! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! – Erica and Matt Casa Romantica Iva […]

I have always wanted to photograph at the Historic Old Courthouse, and was thrilled when Monica and Peter contacted the studio to photograph their wedding. This is the film image we shot on 4×5 new 55 film, which produces both a positive and negative. The detail is phenomenal. The sinar p2 is more of a studio camera, and Kip Roof let me borrow his beautiful 4×5 for this shot ( and he set it up too.) […]
Angela and Chris were married at the beautiful Sherman Library and Gardens in Corona Del Mar. The sunset was shortly after the ceremony, so Angela and Chris did a first look to take advantage of all the photo ops in the gardens, also enabling us to shoot the key family photos before the ceremony, which makes the day less rushed. You take months and months of planning your wedding, why would you want to cram all your photos in to 45 […]
Lacy and Wil planned their ceremony and reception at the modern 7 degrees wedding venue located in Laguna Beach. They were smart and wanted to do a first look, so we could take advantage of all the cool photo backdrops that 7 degrees provides, the bamboo garden, the hallway, and the elevator staircase. The couple chose not to have a bridal party, and for their friends to come and enjoy the event with no obligations. White draped material adorned the ceremony site, […]
Venture on the set with our wedding clients Alex and Liz, then follow us into the darkroom as we print archival traditional black and white negatives for a final fine art presentation. Inspired by Old Hollywood, rented some Mole Richardson lighting and photographed with Large Film Camera 4×5 & the new 55 film. Positive instant prints, and negative scans “Thanks@nicolecaldwellphoto for the amazing film. This photo shoot was super awesome, especially with those 📽💡 – Alex
Mika and Ken are having an american style wedding, and wanted to incorporate their Korean Heritage in the studio engagement session. Perfect opportunity to shoot some 8 x 10 color polaroid film. Thank you to my couples who appreciate the art of film.

new 55 film is both a positive and negative. The size is 4 x5. This was taken with my sinar 4×5 view camera, all manual. The art of film. I like to offer my clients something unique, that they can’t get anywhere else, in the incredibly saturated wedding market. the positive and negative combined here is a hand printed 16 x 20 traditional darkroom print that hangs on the studio gallery wall
